At the end of June I was visited by my dear friend Danette and her son, Cameron. Danette and I have been friends since the time of my nasty divorce and the subsequent wild behavior that ensued. Luckily, she was always there to do something more outrageous than I, so that the end result was not so catastrophic to my well-being. We all need friends like that!
But seriously, Danette is a beautiful lady in every way. She has a huge heart and once she is part of your life you wonder where the light was before she was there. Although she has moved back to Texas to continue her education as a Nurse, we talk frequently (luckily she remembers to call, because I am terrible about that) and I consider her to be one of my closest friends.
I am often reminded of the goofy things we once did in our wilder days, and am amazed that we came out in one piece! It certainly was a lot of fun!
Cameron was not planned , but he is honestly the best thing she ever did. He is a happy little boy that has all of his mom's facial expressions. Cameron was born in March, 2011, and was 5 1/2 months old during his visit. He was the quietest baby I have ever met, and during their 3 might stay in my house, I heard him cry only once. And I am an incredibly light sleeper.
Danette has grown to be an amazing mother. Watching her with her son was truly a pleasure. She still has that rebellious nature, but now it manifests in a fierceness only a mother has for the welfare of her child.
I enjoyed our visit immensely and was very sad when they had to move on to the next friend. We are planning a visit to Texas this winter. I am looking forward to seeing how Cameron has grown, and to finally get down to Texas as I have been promising for the last 5 years.
These are some of my favorite photos from our session. I hope you enjoy them too.
